Dave Richards is an experienced entrepreneur, executive and global early-stage investor. He co-founded Capria and Unitus Ventures - India's leading impact venture fund. Previously, he developed and led multiple high-growth technology businesses at RealNetworks, Sybase and Symantec.
Will Poole is a serial entrepreneur and venture investor, focused on improving ecosystems that bring opportunity to low-income populations. In 2012, he co-founded Unitus Ventures. Will's career started by founding two startups at the dawn of the PC era, working in the early days at Sun Microsystems, and pioneering e-commerce at eShop which was acquired by Microsoft in 1996. At Microsoft, he ran the $13B global Windows business and started their product focus on emerging markets.
Susana Garcia-Robles is a Senior Partner at Capria Ventures and Senior Advisor to the Association for Private Capital Investment in Latin America (LAVCA). She left the Inter-American Development Bank in February 2020, where she was Chief Investment Officer and Gender Initiatives Coordinator at the IDB Lab. In 2012 she co-founded WeXchange, the first LAC pitch competition and platform of encounter between LAC women entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors. In 2019 she co-founded WeInvest Latam, a network of women investors. A recognized expert on development finance innovation, during her 21+ years at IDB she analyzed, coached, and trained thousands of entrepreneurs and venture capital funds from the LAC region, and invested in 90 of them. She also designed programs to boost entrepreneurial ecosystems in most countries in LAC.
Jack Knellinger is an entrepreneur with a lifelong commitment to impact. He has over a decade of experience as a social innovator launching and leading new ventures across multiple sectors and geographies. In 2014, Jack was selected to join Social Enterprise Alliance’s inaugural nationwide “50 under 40″ cohort sponsored by American Express supporting emerging leaders.
Kate is an entrepreneur passionate about democratizing access to services and finance globally. She brings experience in scaling enterprises across geographies to help unlock value through the Capria Network. She has worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs across Africa, Asia, and Latin America in her role as co-founder of the for-profit social enterprise ThinkImpact. She has also worked in impact investing with Bridges Ventures and impact consulting with Global Development Incubator. Kate has a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Cornell University.
Uma brings a wealth of research design experience in design, primary data collection, econometric analyses and project coordination. Uma's work to date has been focused on developing research and evaluation strategies for enterprises operating throughout India. In addition to her work with other companies, Uma will leverage her experience developing Unitus Ventures (formerly Unitus Seed Fund)'s impact assessment methodology and framework to support new fund managers in the Capria network.
Eduardo’s diverse financial background includes experience in investment banking, equity research, private equity and operational CFO experience at a VC-backed startup. He brings a cross-cultural profile with direct experience at global investment banks both in New York and Mexico City. Eduardo started his career at Credit Suisse in Mexico City, and later moved to the US to join UBS. Most recently, he led HSBC’s equity research team in Mexico.
Juan is responsible for evaluating fund and direct investments. He brings a blend of operational and financial services experience to the team both within the US and across Emerging Markets. His past experience includes financial services at Citi and being part of the Supply Chain Management team at IBM. He is a graduate from MIT Sloan School of Business and the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Aparna brings prior consulting and analytics experience across the US and India. At Capria, she holds the dual role of Investment and Data Analyst. She focuses on deal sourcing, evaluation and execution, along with portfolio management in South/Southeast Asia region. She is also responsible for managing portfolio data analysis and reporting for the firm. Aparna has previously worked as a Senior Consultant at EY in Asset Management Advisory division and as a Research Analyst at A.T. Kearney focusing on consumer goods and retail sector. She is an MS Finance graduate from Johns Hopkins University, US, and has passed CFA Level 1.
Eunice is responsible for deal sourcing and deal evaluation of fund managers across Africa and Middle East as well as providing due diligence and portfolio management support. With a background in management consulting, Eunice has been involved in helping SMEs in East Africa better understand their market, formulate winning business strategies and raise capital from investors.
Shreyas comes with a strategic, data driven approach to marketing cultivated with experience across India & USA. Proficient in marketing & business practices, process orientation, integrated campaign management across consumer products, consumer services and consumer service products, he plays with keen business acumen in analyzing and understanding business requirements to develop and scale business streams by means of strategic marketing.
Design & Operations Manager
Varsha brings fresh ideas, curious outlooks and her unique aesthetic style to the Capria brand. Prior to joining Capria, Varsha worked at IIT Madras as a Graphic Designer and played a vital role in contributing to their increased social media presence. She has also freelanced as a illustrator and as a product stylist. Varsha has completed her Master’s in Communication from M.O.P Vaishnav College and studied Bachelors in Visual Communication from Shasun Jain College at Chennai, India.
PR & Communication Manager
Atree drives Capria’s public relation and communication efforts across various regions globally. She weaves together contemporary research and business understanding, nurtures symbiotic media and influencer relationship, and strategizes thought leadership program to deliver value-based outcome. Skilled to manage global outreach campaigns, press engagements, internal & external communication, branding functions and proactive crisis management. In her previous stints for the past 7 years, her diverse experience involved working with micro-finance, personal finance, tech start-ups, lifestyle & hospitality, government, wellness and healthcare that has moulded her as “responsible and responsive”, fostering a belief that effective communication is vital tool to solve difficult business situations.
Nicolae Florin Dorlea
Analyst, Investor Relations
Nicolae manages the investor relations database and roadshows, conducts investor research, overseas grant/TA reporting, supports investor due diligence, and drives fund manager advancement initiatives. Nicolae was previously with Third Bridge, a leading primary research firm, where he supported public equity due diligence for hedge fund analysts with a combined AUM of $20B.
Clare manages Capria's core processes and technology architecture to build organizational effectiveness and guide change management as the firm scales up. She promotes seamless collaboration and knowledge-sharing across global teams and with our partnerships with fund managers, portfolio companies and LPs. Previously, Clare managed a team of data coordinators with a research firm where she oversaw database setup, programming, and specifications testing for global health studies, including a multi-year study with 8,000 participants across 4 countries. She also worked as Operations Manager for an international development organization in Nicaragua, where she supervised a multinational staff and managed implementation of over 1,200 medical mission and economic development trips.
Head of Finance & Fund Administration
Vikas heads the Finance function for Capria. He brings his expertise in cultivating sustainable business practices, developing policy frameworks and maintaining strong financial control. He has engineered the accounting processes, established policies and procedures and implemented systems.
Previously, he worked for Amba Research, a financial services provider and has also worked with other leading companies like Max New York Life Insurance and WNS Global Services.
Vikas is a Chartered Accountant and has a bachelors’ degree from Delhi University.
