🌼 Flourishing in February 🌼

One just cannot miss the love in the air during February. The fragrance of red roses, teenagers queuing up to buy boxes of chocolates, and walking in the park with your loved one.

Come to think of it, the world of entrepreneurship is also similar to relationships. Falling in love with an exciting business idea, finding the right founder or investor, and building something together that will last.

We’re so happy that our portfolio company, Kueski, found its “perfect match” with Amazon. Kueski is Mexico’s leading online consumer lender, simplifying finances and empowering people financially. In a significant milestone, Kueski has partnered with Amazon Mexico, offering its customers nationwide personal loans and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solutions. This marks Amazon’s debut in the Mexican BNPL market, cementing a promising union for financial convenience and accessibility.

GenAI Showcase

One company in our portfolio that’s harnessing GenAI in innovative ways is Alami. Using GenAI in its consumer app, Alami delivers a new customer experience, offering personalized advisory services and empowering individuals to make informed financial decisions. Such advisory would not be economical to provide without GenAI.

We also have a streaming pick for you this week. Masai School has been featured in Disney+ Hotstar’s new series ‘The Indian Edtech Story’. What we found really interesting is that the idea for Masai School took shape during its founder Prateek Shukla’s trip to Maasai Mara, the stunning kaleidoscope of wild and rugged landscapes in Africa. It was then that Prateek stumbled upon this nugget of truth: formal education isn’t the sole path to strength and resilience. The Masai tribe’s ethos of skill-based learning, honed from childhood, became the cornerstone of Masai School’s mission.

Founders Corner

In our decade-long investment journey in the Global South, we’ve learned that there’s one thing that is common among entrepreneurs, no matter where they are from. They all view challenges not as roadblocks but as stepping stones for growth and innovation. Every obstacle presents an opportunity to redefine boundaries, transforming adversity into triumph.

Here’s what Sahin Caglayan, Co-founder and CEO of Faradai has to say.
