Key takeaways from our review of GenAI tool: Intranet Querying Tools

Intranet querying refers to using a tool to access information in one spot regardless of where it is stored. Intranet querying tools would be able to pull information from other third-party tools and show results based on the query, providing quick links to access that information and additional insights. By being able to quickly analyze data without having to open a tool, they would be able to save time and effort.

Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important to fund managers who work in fast-paced environments, as it can help them make better decisions by increasing their search capabilities and improving their knowledge management. Intranet Querying tools that utilize AI are beneficial because they improve efficiency and reduce the amount of time necessary to gather information. The instant search capabilities of funds’ information pools make it easier for you to find the information you need quickly.

Intranet querying tools can provide huge benefits for founders with limited resources. Since startups are growing rapidly and ingesting information quickly, these tools make it easier for small teams to stay organized and keep track of important information as they build and grow their companies.

Best Tools Available:
Dropbox Dash

  • Pros:
    • Integrates seamlessly with existing Dropbox accounts
    • Easy to implement and affordable even for small teams
  • Cons:
    • Limited to searching Dropbox content (connectors TBA)
    • AI and machine learning capabilities still developing

Glean

  • Pros:
    • Very strong AI/ML capabilities with semantic ranking of information
    • Connects many data sources such as G-Suite, Dropbox, Asana, Slack, etc.
    • Robust knowledge graph and analytics
  • Cons:
    • More complex implementation at the beginning to set up connectors

Capria’s Take:

While Glean is the most promising tool we’ve found to improve employees’ ability to find information across multiple file and communication platforms, the setup process may be too onerous for companies with a small operating budget. We’re keenly awaiting Dropbox’s new Dash feature that promises a similar offer for Dropbox subscribers at a more affordable price point. Dash’s integration with Dropbox accounts and easy rollout make it a great option for early-stage startups looking to leverage AI search.
