Global Ventures Announces Partnership With Capria Ventures

Global investment firm Capria Ventures makes first investment into the MENA region

London, UK, December 17, 2020: Global Ventures, a UAE-based venture capital firm, is excited to partner with Capria Ventures (“Capria”), a Seattle-based global investment fund-of-funds.

Capria has approved its investment in Global Ventures’ second fund, which is focussed on technology companies addressing critical needs and demands in recently accelerated industries. Global Ventures has invested in 25 companies across its two funds and continues to be a leading provider of capital and value creation for start-ups in the Middle East and Africa, with a timely and increasing focus on MedTech.

This represents the first fund investment Capria has made in the Middle East / North Africa (“MENA”) region. Global Ventures is excited to be supported by Capria and accelerate further into a burgeoning, regional venture and innovation ecosystem with rapid growth opportunities in the Digital Health, FinTech, EdTech and AgriTech sectors.

Through its network of 20 partner fund managers, Capria has access to companies in 37 countries in the emerging markets of Africa, Middle East, South & Southeast Asia and Latin America. In alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, Capria partners with fund managers like Global Ventures bound by a common objective to accelerate the flow of global and local capital to high-growth businesses.

Capria’s network of investing partners collectively manage over US$400 million in assets, deployed in early stage / growth companies in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Capria has over US$100 million in assets under management invested directly in India via Unitus Ventures, and in other markets via partners of the Capria Fund which takes anchor GP and LP positions.
