Capria is the leading venture network investing in and supporting extraordinary tech startups that are collaborating to scale in the Global South. To support our efforts to grow the value of our portfolio, Capria has created a new Vice President role within our investing team to lead efforts to accelerate our portfolio’s growth via business development, network creation, executive learning, and other areas.


Portfolio Acceleration


Every venture firm looks to add value beyond money, board participation and CEO coaching. You will lead our unique efforts in that area, focused on CxO peer-learning, collaboration and building South-to-South and South-to-North networks. As a member of our global investing team, you’ll work in lock-step with the firm’s partners and investment team to understand the evolving needs of our portfolio at the CxO level, to up our game in portfolio value-add, and to devise and to deliver 1:few and 1:many programs that support their needs. You will leverage and amplify the capabilities of Capria’s seasoned leadership team, advisors, 3rd party industry experts, and your own team members. And you will be a part of analyzing, completing and managing select investment transactions (~25% of your time). More specifically:


  • Drive a continuous discovery and learning process to ensure we understand the evolving needs of our growing portfolio; feed learnings into strategy and planning processes.
  • Create new initiatives and portfolio value leveraging internal knowledge development events, proprietary research, and facilitated founder peer-to-peer interactions.
  • Source and hire a small team of up-and-coming business development professionals to explore new areas of South-to-South and -North network development, including connections to downstream scale-up investors, corporate VC investors, potential strategic partners, multinational customers, etc.





8-10 years industry experience in business development, strategic sales and/or marketing, backed by MBA or equivalent industry experience. Experience working on a VC or PE investing team is a big plus. Successful candidates will have a preponderance of the following:


  • Managed a team of at least 2-5 professionals with global-standard management practices, ensuring clarity of objectives and excellent team performance.
  • Have worked in multiple overseas assignments, and/or for multinational companies, and/or service providers thereto, making you largely fluent in international business practices.
  • Able to deal well with ambiguity, starting with challenging high-level goals, exploring potential execution strategies, adjusting as you go and learn, and ultimately delivering exceptional results.
  • 2-3 years experience working at a startup, or direct experience working alongside startups as and investor, a senior service provider, or business partner, or at a scaling startup (series A onwards).
  • Well networked within the one or more emerging market startup / entrepreneur ecosystems.
  • A passport with quite a few stamps on it over the past 5-10 years.


Location: Preferred co-location in any of our hubs, including Bangalore, Nairobi, Singapore, Mexico City, Jakarta, or Washington DC with annual travel to our HQ in Seattle Washington, and occasional travel to other Global South regions. Our firm has globally adopted a hybrid home/office model which is still evolving; you should anticipate spending ~3 days per week in our offices or a co-working facility wherever you are located.
